    TREKKING OF APU AUSANTAGE 12 Days / 11 Nights

    This circuit begins with the visit of the City of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and one of the wonders of the world, Machu Picchu. After acclimatizing ourselves with these days dedicated to culture, our walk will begin. This walk will allow us to discover a variety of landscapes, lakes, snowy mountains, we will admire numerous llamas and alpacas, we will also have a contact with the population that lives along the route and thus know their customs.     Itinerary day by day

    Day 1: Arrival

    Arrival to the capital of Peru, Lima. Welcome and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, free time to visit Lima. Overnight at hotel.

    Accommodation: Hotel in Lima

    Day 2: Lima - Cusco

    Transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. Arrive and transfer to your hotel in the center of the imperial city. In the afternoon, visit of the imperial city of Cusco, classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Visit of the convent of Santo Domingo and the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), walk through the main square of Cusco, important streets even with Inca walls. Then visit of the surroundings of the City of Cusco. The fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, the red fortress of Puca pukara and Tambomachay. Return to the City of Cusco.

    Day 3: Cusco - Sacred Valley: Chinchero - Moray - Maras - Ollantaytambo

    Early departure from the hotel. Our first visit to the archaeological center of Chinchero, recognized for being a village with one of the best textiles in the area. Visit its artisan market and its colonial temple. Then visit the set of circular terraces of Moray, possibly an agricultural laboratory of the Inca period. You will then visit the salt mines of Maras, decantation salt ponds from pre-Inca times that are currently used. Our vehicle after the visit will take us to the town of Ollantaytambo, during the route we will make a stop for our buffet lunch in a typical restaurant of the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival to Ollantaytambo, visit the Inca site. After exploring this place, we will take the train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes. Night at Aguas Calientes

    Day 4: Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo

    Early departure to take a bus that will take us to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. Built for the Inca Pachacuteq, it was a religious sanctuary strategically built on the mountain of the same name, it contemplates neighborhoods, plazas, houses and an agricultural sector. Discovered in 1911 by archaeologist Bingham. Actually, World Heritage of Humanity. It is possible to climb the mountain of Huayna Picchu (subject to availability of spaces, book 2 or 3 months in advance). Return to the village. Lunch. Return train to Ollantaytambo. Night in Ollantaytambo.

    Day 5: Ollantaytambo - Pisaq - Cusco

    Departure from the village of Ollantaytambo. Our first return visit will be the Inca site of Pisaq, built on the mountain behind the village of the same name. It’s strategic location with neighborhoods, cemeteries and agricultural terraces. After our visit, we return to the City of Cusco. Time free at the afternoon.

    Day 6: Cusco - Tinke - Upis

    Transfer to community of Tinke (approx. 3 hours). First stage of our trek. First contact with our logistic team (cook, muleteers and their pack animals) Camps located in front of the Apu Ausangate Camp night.

    Day 7: Upis - Paso Arapa (4730 m) - Paso Apacheta (4840 m) - Ausangatecocha (4630 m)

    We begin with a climb to Abra Arapa, at the foot of the north face of the Ausangate. Then cross horizontally for one hour before descending fast. The trail follows streams of a small lake before reaching Lake Jatunpucacocha (the great red lake, 4580 m). You will pass by a last opening at 4800 m, then down the beautiful Lake Ausangate (4630 m). Night at campment.

    Day 8: Ausangatecocha - Abra Palomani - Hatunpampa

    Today is an important day as it will reach the first of the highest openings: Abra Palomani. It is a short walk from the camp to the highest open of the walk. You will enjoy a unique scenery at 5,000 meters above sea level. The descent will take you to the town of Huchuy Phinaya where you will have lunch. After a short rest, continue the route descending a gentle slope until you reach the next camp in Hatunpampa. You will enjoy a high Andean plain surrounded by snowy peaks. Night at camp.

    Day 9: Hatunpampa - Abra Janca - Pacchanta (4300 m)

    Today it will cross the second highest open on the 5,000 m: Open Janca. Here you will enjoy a beautiful Andean landscape where the Andean camelids live together with the high mountains, watched over by the spectacular snowy Colquecruz. Following the path downhill, you will arrive at the place where you will have lunch and then continue to the village of Pacchanta with its relaxing thermal baths. An excellent end to one of the hardest days of the trek.

    Day 10: Pacchanta -Tinke - Puno

    Departure by the mountains of Tinke, in front of the small mountain range of Paucartambo. The road is long, numerous troops of llamas and sheep, as well as shepherd children. Arrive in Tinke. End of the walk. Farewell and thanks to the whole team before our trip to Puno. On the route we will appreciate land of the Altiplano. Arrival and installation.

    Early visit of the island of Taquile, visit on foot of the island. Lunch. Return by boat to the City of Puno. Transfer to the city of Juliaca, to the airport, to take the flight to the city of Lima.

    Day 12: Lima - international flight - country of origin

    Return to your country of origin, depending on the time of your flight, transfer to the airport.
